Tour

# siteBits in pictures.

Every picture is a screenshot from siteBits, made from a fixed recipe with a real drone capture. Place and building are deliberately not named.

The interface in the screenshots is German, like siteBits today. An English interface is planned.

- **Released:** siteBits 0.10.3

## Point clouds in the browser

Hundreds of millions of points straight in the browser, streamed level by level. No plug-in, nothing to install.

![Oblique aerial view of a coloured point cloud: flat-roofed buildings, yards and trees](https://sitebits.de/assets/tour/punktwolke/gesamt-1200.webp)

921 million points, streamed in the browser: coarse first, then denser level by level.

![The same view with the interface: toolbar at the top, View and Layers panels on the left, minimap on the right](https://sitebits.de/assets/tour/punktwolke/oberflaeche-1200.webp)

With the interface: tools on top, view and layers on the left, minimap on the right.

## Measuring with provenance

Distance, polyline, area and height directly in the cloud or on the mesh, and for every value what it rests on.

![Measurement line along a roof edge reading 18.762 m](https://sitebits.de/assets/tour/messen/strecke-1200.webp)

Distance along a roof edge, shareable as a link: camera and measurement are in the address.

![Area of a flat roof as a polygon, the measurement list on the right with area and perimeter](https://sitebits.de/assets/tour/messen/flaeche-1200.webp)

Area, polyline and height; the measurement list says what each value rests on.

03 · available · since 0.10.0

## Point classes and returns

Colour by class, hide classes one by one, show first or last returns only.

![Point cloud coloured by class: ground brown, vegetation green, buildings blue; class list with point counts on the left](https://sitebits.de/assets/tour/klassen/klassenfarben-1200.webp)

Colour by ASPRS class, each class can be hidden, with point counts.

![The same point cloud without vegetation: ground, walls and buildings exposed](https://sitebits.de/assets/tour/klassen/ohne-baeume-1200.webp)

Vegetation hidden: terrain and buildings exposed. The selection is part of the view link.

04 · available · since 0.7.0

## Textured meshes

3D models as a layer next to the point cloud, measurable, with display modes for checking.

![Textured mesh of the buildings, oblique view](https://sitebits.de/assets/tour/mesh/textur-1200.webp)

Mesh layer with texture.

![The same mesh without texture, lit in grey](https://sitebits.de/assets/tour/mesh/grau-1200.webp)

Grey and lit: check the geometry without texture, wireframe on demand. Preview, comes with 0.11.

05 · available · since 0.1.0

## Panoramas and photos in place

Spherical panoramas per station and oriented photos exactly where they were taken.

![Spherical panorama at a station in the yard: façade with window band and graffiti, toolbars and panels around](https://sitebits.de/assets/tour/panorama-fotos/panorama-1200.webp)

277 spherical panoramas; the point cloud lies exactly underneath, measuring works here too.

![Split view: 3D scene on the left, the matching original photo on the right](https://sitebits.de/assets/tour/panorama-fotos/foto-geteilt-1200.webp)

Split view 3D | photo: every oriented photo at the position it was taken from.

06 · available · since 0.2.1

## Walk mode

Walk through the capture at eye level, with keyboard, mouse or gamepad.

![Eye-level view between the buildings in walk mode](https://sitebits.de/assets/tour/begehen/begehen-1200.webp)

Walk at eye level with keyboard, mouse or gamepad.

07 · available · since 0.1.0

## Findings in place

Pin an observation exactly where it is visible, and discuss it as a thread.

![Panorama at a concrete column with rust marks, next to it the form for a new finding titled “Korrosion am Stützenfuß”](https://sitebits.de/assets/tour/befunde/befund-1200.webp)

Place a finding where it is visible, then discuss it as a thread.

08 · available · since 0.3.0

## Share by link

One link carries view, measurements, layers and finding. Whoever opens it sees exactly the same.

![“Share” dialog for a finding in the panorama, with a link that holds station, view direction and finding](https://sitebits.de/assets/tour/teilen/teilen-1200.webp)

Finding link: whoever opens it stands at the same station and sees the same finding. View links carry camera, measurements, layers and class filter.
