## The siteBits software

siteBits is developed by André Stiebitz, who is the author of the software. Rights holder and manufacturer is Stiebitz Souverain Systems UG (haftungsbeschränkt). It is licensed under the [European Union Public Licence 1.2 (EUPL-1.2)](https://joinup.ec.europa.eu/collection/eupl/eupl-text-eupl-12); source code and releases are on [GitHub](https://github.com/sitebits/sitebits). Stiebitz Souverain Systems UG (haftungsbeschränkt) operates this website and offers setup, hosting and support for siteBits.

### Warranty and liability for the software

The software is provided free of charge and as is. Articles 7 (disclaimer of warranty) and 8 (disclaimer of liability) of the EUPL-1.2 apply: no warranty is given for the software, and liability exists only where mandatory law requires it, in particular for wilful misconduct and for damage caused directly to natural persons.

Measurements in siteBits depend on the underlying scan and image data and how it was prepared. They do not replace an official survey. Where a scale is not backed by evidence, the software says so.

Setup, hosting and support by Stiebitz Souverain Systems UG (haftungsbeschränkt) are governed by the terms agreed in the respective contract.

## Liability for content

As a service provider we are responsible for our own content on these pages under general law (§ 7 (1) DDG). Under §§ 8 to 10 DDG we are not obliged to monitor third-party information transmitted or stored, or to search for circumstances indicating illegal activity. Obligations to remove or block information under general law remain unaffected. Liability is only possible from the moment we become aware of a specific infringement; we will then remove such content without delay.
