Manche werden von Firmen bezahlt, die auf den Code angewiesen sind, viele arbeiten in ihrer Freizeit, oft über Jahre. Manche Projekte tragen Stiftungen, manche eine einzelne Person. Sie veröffentlichen ihre Arbeit, damit andere sie nutzen, prüfen und verbessern können. Ohne das gäbe es ein Werkzeug wie siteBits nicht: Vieles davon ist nicht hier entstanden, sondern zusammengefügt aus dem, was andere geduldig entwickelt haben.
